SMART is a non-profit organization registered in July 1999 in Rijeka after joining up a team of professional trainers/consultants with many years of experience in the Croatian non-profit sector.

Mission
The Association for Civil Society Development SMART is a non-profit organization aimed at strengthening and supporting the development of non-profit sector in Croatia. SMART implements educational trainings, technical assistance and consultations, gathers and distributes relevant information to NGO's, informal groups and individuals. In addition, SMART works with public and business sector for the benefit of the non-profit organizations.
SMART activities are based on the principles of empowerment, participatory involvement, and maintenance of positive initiatives, stimulation of cooperation, mutual understanding, personal responsibility, life-long learning and respect for differences.
